Why do we need a Lasting Power of Attorney?
Often as we get older we no longer have the ability to deal with our own affairs, this may relate to managing a bank account or making decisions as to the kind of health care that we should receive. Powers of Attorney are legal documents appointing a person or persons to act for us in relation to financial or health and welfare matters. Although the Government can appoint someone responsible to act for us if we become incapable this is generally an expensive and lengthy process, it is preferable for all of us to choose our own attorneys in advance. Once you have written your own Power it will give you the peace of mind you need.
